I am amazed by the talents of Michael Machung. It isn't very often you run across an illustrator and an author so blessed to be able to deliver extraordinary talent in both areas. From drawings that bring the story to life to the new meaning of the words written, the reader will find it hard to put down the book. Be on the lookout as he is producing more work for us to consume.

Description

In the sweltering summer of 1951, New York City echoes with the untold stories of its inhabitants. Among them is Barbara Langley, a resilient woman trapped in a life of torment at the hands of her powerful lawyer husband, Gabe Langley. Her world, already shadowed by abuse, takes a turn when she flees to her mother’s mansion, seeking refuge. Her mother, Edith, then sends her to a remote cabin in British Columbia to spend the rest of the summer there only to encounter a greater evil that wants her family’s property, which he deems sacred. Will Barbara give in to his demands?
